Enterprise House

"I have been at the project now for six months and have benefited greatly. Not only have I learned new skills but also I have met new friends. I don't think I would do anywhere near as well as I am if it was not for Enterprise House and the staff who work there."

Enterprise House is a work experience resource centre for people with mental health problems. It aims through a programme of work-based tasks to create an environment in which the individual worker can regain the skills and confidence necessary for independent life in the community.

Members have the opportunity to get a taste of working life whilst learning new skills through a supported work environment. Skills include customer service, general merchandising and IT skills, as well as taking part in our furniture service, and gaining retail experience in the fund raising shop . We also have links with employment establishments and educational training centres. The project runs as a 'social firm' whereby users are encouraged to give opinions about how the service operates. Through listening and implementing personal views, we aim to encourage personal development and growth. This also allows members to comment and offer suggestions on skills currently offered at Enterprise House. This means the service keeps up to date, valid and relevant for participants.

The majority of our members successfully move on to paid jobs or college. If you require any further information on Enterprise House, you may find our Frequently Asked Questions section helpful.

In order to support and enable people's progress we offer a range of services including; Advice and Information, Welfare Benefits, Housing Support, Advocacy, Counselling, Further Education and Voluntary Work.
