Outreach
“If it wasn’t for Outreach I wouldn’t have got any support, they are always there when you need them”
The Outreach Project aims to enable Fairfield members to live successfully in the community and to maintain their well being once this has been achieved. We ensure that we work to the users agenda at all times and aim to assist the member to live independently and have a life that is as ordinary as possible.
The success of the Outreach Project is due to the team’s ability to provide support for clients across a wide range of areas. Every year, hundreds of services are delivered, ranging from a simple home visit to advocating at a case conference where a client’s voice might otherwise not be heard. Key areas of support include; liasing with other agencies, providing emotional support, and engaging and maintaining contact with members on day-to-day basis.
Although the issues we deal with can be varied and complex, getting us to help is not.
As the service operates within the Fairfield Club, and because staff actively engage and maintain contact even when members are well, strong informal relationships can be built over a long period of time. This means it is easier for members to trust Outreach staff, providing an effective link to professionals in the statutory sector whom they don’t know and might find less approachable.
The client-friendly service aims to be as accessible and flexible as possible, with no overly formal remit or booking system.
