Mind Excellence Awards 2024
The Mind Quality Mark is a rigorous quality assurance standard that sets the bar for good practice and legal compliance for all organisations in the Mind Federation.
Every three years, local Minds undergo a review against the Mind Quality Mark standards. These reviews are led by individuals with lived experience of mental health problems and senior leaders from other local Minds. Mind in Croydon is proud to have received commendations in the categories of Effective Services and Equality & Diversity. The judges noted that the Croydon health and Wellbeing Space (CHWS) that we deliver in Partnership with the NHS and Croydon BME forum that:
“Mind in Croydon is dedicated to providing support that best represents their community, as well as reaching individuals who often fall through the gaps of existing mental health services. Using evidence provided by the Croydon BME Forum to collaboratively develop the Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space is a prime example of identifying unmet needs in the local community and working to address them as much as possible.”
Last year CHWS support people with issues such as housing, debt, peer support on more than 3000 occasions and demand continuous to grow month on month.
We attended Minds Excellence awards presentation event in Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon. It was inspiring to hear about the brilliant work happening across the Mind Network and to return home with two commendations.
