The Vaccine Easy Exhibition

Monday 10th October to Sunday 23rd October 2022

Opening celebration: 10th October 2022, 1.30pm to 4.30pm

Location: Croydon Health & Wellbeing Space, Whitgift Centre, 1st floor next to Holland and Barrett (Unit 1101-1102), Croydon, CR0 1UY

The Vaccine Easy Exhibition is a major show of artwork created by the wonderful residents of Croydon. This two-week exhibition celebrates World Mental Health Day and will take place between Monday 10th October to Sunday 23rd October 2022.

Hosted by Mind in Croydon and developed by local artist Saba Khan of ArtEase, our artists were offered nine art sessions over the summer. We were an incredible flurry of laughter, conversation, and art. We made power portraits, superb contemporary book covers, coloured paper cut-out gardens, shimmering blue swimming pools, and food and ceramic still life!

What was special about these sessions was that they also offered opportunities to explore opinions on the Covid 19 vaccine. The feelings of Croydon residents’ matter and whatever the view, we wanted to know how people felt. Through the works of Frida Kahlo, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Pierre Bonnard, Marc Chagall, Grayson Perry, Chris Ofili, and others, artists explored healthy living, healthcare, selfcare and vaccine choices.

Join us at our opening event on Monday 10th October 2022 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Enjoy some art, find out what our artists said about the Covid-19 vaccine and learn how artists like Frida Kahlo and Matisse, used art for selfcare and healthy living. Saba Khan’s artwork made whilst shielding through the pandemic, will also be on view as part of this exhibition.

Please phone 0203 154 9539 or email dora@mindincroydon.org.uk to let us know if you would like to attend our celebration.

The exhibition will be open for two weeks, so if you can’t make it on Monday, pop in another time!
